Purpose for Thirsk Days
The purposes are to provide intensive extension or support for
student learning prior to the end of each term. Extension
activities may include presentations, projects, labs, guest
speakers, field trips … Support may include tutorial “boot
camps”, help with assignment completion, opportunities to
“redo” or summative assessment preparation.
Dates/Times for Thirsk Days
- 8:30 am – 1:00 pm
- Two “Thirsk Days” are scheduled prior to the end of each term.
Schedule for Thirsk Days
On the first “Thirsk Day” of each term, students will attend
extended periods 1 and 3 (with a half hour nutrition break in
between). On the second “Thirsk Day” of each term, students
will attend extended periods 4 and 5 (with a half hour nutrition
break in between).
As with any school day, students are expected to attend.
