AG 101 Presentations

Students at Robert Thirsk High School participated in the third annual Ag101 event presented by the Natural Science program in conjunction with the Ag for Life program. More than 200 participants started their day with a Made in Alberta breakfast cooked and delivered by the amazing culinary program and then were led by leadership students through 7 different guest speaker sessions dealing with a variety of agricultural topics. Students were exposed to topics such as Canola production in Alberta, Animal Farm Care, the importance of riparian zones and cattle production, sustainable farming practices, Vitara provided background on different types of pulse  and wheat crops , AdFarm brought a agricultural game and the University of Alberta presented on possible program options for post-secondary. The day went off without a hitch and left the students richer for their agricultural knowledge.
